They must be kidding, but sadly, they are not

I gave a 5 star rating for Claim Service because when a young man drove his vehicle into our motor home 18 months ago, causing some damage, Progressive did handle the claim very satisfactorily. However, we are about to renew our policy, having completed almost 2 years with Progressive. Our rates went up 33% ! Yes 33%. Progressive reduced our deductible because we have had no claims in one year. (The only claim being the one that was caused by someone else.) When we called to figure out how to reduce our premium, we were told that because we purchased clothes from Macy's in June (balance paid off as soon as the bill came, we opened the credit card to take advantage of a 25% off promotion) and because we just purchased a vehicle to replace our 2000 Expedition- we are now in an "unfavorable" category. Our credit rating is 823 as of Oct 2016. Progressive doesn't care about the FICA score, they use their own algorithms. Sadly for us, because we have an umbrella policy with USAA, USAA requires us to insure our RV with Progressive which has some partnership with USAA. Ordinarily USAA is awesome, but not in this partnership. Avoid Progressive if you have other options.

DON'T DO IT !!!

Absolutely WORSE company. I'm only 22 and I'm on my parents plan here with progressive. I borrowed my mom's car and got rear-ended and the guy took off. Because I'm not the primary driver they wouldn't cover it. I've been paying $200 a month to be on their insurance and they wouldn't cover the damages.

Nonrenewal for using your Roadside Assistance

I signed up with Progressive online. Price was comparable to several other companies. I opted to pay the extra fee for Roadside assistance for my 14 year old car. There was a battery issue that caused several calls for a jump. About 2 month after the battery issue was resolved. I received an notice for non renewal of my policy. I called in to speak to an underwriter to state that I was unaware of the 'limited' roadside and that I paid for the service not knowing multiple instances would mark me eligible for non renewal. Shannon, the rep, said there was NOTHING that could be done. So in short, after about 30 years of no actual accidents or claims with another insurer, I'm not eligible for using roadside. Thanks for nothing Progressive you fail on so many levels. I'm glad you cancelled my policy so I will not continue to give my money for poor customer service!

Unethical practices

Unethical! Progressive is a huge company that bullies their customers. They are cancelling my policy because of two outrageous reasons: 1. I was in an accident within the first 30 days of becoming a Progressive customer. Mind you, I was the one that was hit! The other person received a traffic violation ticket, not me. Isn't this the job of an insurance company? No one can predict when an ACCIDENT will happen. 2. They are accusing me of fraud! They are claiming that my home address is not my address!! Why? Because (supposedly) they had a piece of mail returned to them. That's interesting because I have received ALL my other mail, including my ID cards from Progressive when I became a policy holder. They also claim that I'm suspect because I signed up for paperless billing....but they advised me to do that!! I feel these bullying actions are due to the fact of the accident and they want to just take your money rather than do their intended purpose and help their customers. I have never had this happen to me. I've been driving for over 20 years and never have I experienced this. Stay away from this abusive company!

STAY AWAY!!!!!

Bought a 6 month policy from progressive... attempted to sign up for paperless billing even though i paid the entire policy upfront. the link the company sent me never let me register so they slapped an $87.00 charge on me for not signing up for paperless billing... even though i shouldn't have received any bills in the first place. after several attempts to sign up for paperless (always landed on a "page unavailable" message. i called the company 2 months ago to let them know the problems i had been having. to my surprise she seemed very helpful and stated "i will take care of this for you no problem" then 2 months later i received another bill for 87 dollars.. hilariously enough the bill came in my email! i called again and was told "sorry not sorry" you owe $87.00... i said cant you see i called in August to explain this... they responded yes we see, but our website was working fine so this is your fault. then they asked if i was going to renew my policy..NO of course not... so she said "ok then you owe us $87.00" sounds like extortion to me but what do i know.. i lied about trying to sign up for paperless billing... 12 times... STAY AWAY from this company unless you have too much money in your bank account and are looking for a company to relieve you of it.

Demo cars

Got in a accident that was not my fault but the other insurer could not afford to pay for my vehicle with 25000 liability so I had to go through mine progressive and they would not give me the market value of my car... compared my vehicle to demonstration vehicles sold in my area to find out the worth of my car.. I had a brand new vehicle and I got a estimate that was 5000 lower than the blue book used and I was told that they don't use the blue book....demonstration vehicles are sold under market value and they tried this scam on me beware....

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH PROGRESSIVE AUTO INSU

Stay away from this insurance company. They offered me one price to join and then 6 months later (at my first renewal), they DOUBLED the price based on 1 weather related accident i had - the ONLY motor vehicle accident I ever had BEFORE I selected them as my insurance carrier. Disgusting customer service!

Worst customer service

These people do not care what their service reps tell you. They either Don't train their representativese or they're just idiots. My policy was ending so I contacted them. I was getting my renewal offer. Last week,1st person (Aleasia)sp? I spoke to gave me 2 different prices 1 with auto pay, 1 without. Yesterday I called and was gonna pay that amount. I spoke with Shandelle (sp?). She tried giving me a different amount. Telling me, I had to pay that. She said she had no idea where the other person got those numbers. So today, I gave in and called them to pay that higher amount. Person I spoke today was Matthew. He tried telling me that the prices I got where not correct and had no idea where those people got those prices...UMMM yeah, that sounds familiar. The price kept going UP every time. I asked to speak to a supervisor. I spoke with Brenda (supposedly a Manager or Supervisor) She tried telling me something completely different from the others. Now its at a higher price and said there's no option to lower my initial renewal with auto pay set up. She said it wouldn't be in effect until next months bill. She said, she had no idea where the others got their price $ from. WTF, it's like a broken record keeps repeating...To bad they don't do that with the prices they give. Customer service---Pure shit! I don't think they even get trained. Manager/Supervisor---She may as well be just customer service. She diffidently needs more training. **Warning**If you don't pay the price they give you on your first call.....you won't see it again. Worst part...I didn't call for a quote. I was just renewing. So they lost a paying client.
