Bait and Switch

CAUTION - Beware Progressive raises prices after you switch to them. Only 1 year exactly of being insured with them and they raiesd our insurance by $500 dollars for a single year. This is with us having preferred ratings - no accidents or tickets. They have no explanation just that it's what the rates are now. When I joined them I explained I did not want an introductory price and to have to check yearly for new insurance because they jump up the price. Well I guess they are just like the cable companies now, you have to shop each year for the best price company because they are banking on you will not shop around.

Daniel McGee is a con artist

Daniel McGee is the adjuster assigned to our claim. He was only willing to pay 80% of our damages for our car being wrecked when his policy holder had 100% fault. Then he said we would be reimbursed for our rental car. When we sent him the invoice he said he wasn't going to pay the total amount because it took him 5 and a half weeks to do anything. We have yet to receive any reimbursement at all and that was 3 weeks ago. We're out almost $1800 for the rental and it looks like we're going to have to take the policy holder to small claims court. If your in an accident that isn't your fault you better hope they don't have progressive.

Don’t trust progressive

It’s has been a nightmare. After my car was picked up and towed. It waited in the progressive shop for two weeks. Till they called asking what body shop I wanted it taken to. I had given them the name for the body shop 3 times prior to this. Then after finally being on the same page about which body shop I chose. PROGRESSIVE CALLS ME ASKING IF I HAVE MY CAR?! people. 🤦🏻‍♀️ They picked up my car. how do they not know where it is. After that phone call, the body shop calls me asking to fill out paperwork to work on the car. I went finished all the paperwork. Progressive calls me again. ASKING AGAIN IF I HAVE MY CAR?! I told them no. The body shop does, I just finished paperwork. The adjuster said “okay! I’ll call the body shop to make sure they have it.” (What?!) Then two weeks pass and a few calls later. Now, today. I called the body shop this morning asking when my car will be ready. They said not done yet but hopefully tomorrow! Progressive calls me a few hours later saying my car is ready! & that I need to return my rental car and pick up my vehicle. I asked while on the phone with the adjuster. “Are you sure my car is ready? I called today seeing when it would be finished. They said tomorrow. Hopefully. “ The adjuster was so positive and sure. She told me I needed to return the rental and pick up my car. Everything is good and golden. I returned the rental car. Went to the body shop. & GUESS WHAT IS NOT READY? & GUESS WHO DOES NOT HAVE A CAR??!! 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️ How can they be that bad at their job.... to save them money by not paying another day for the rental car they tricked me into bringing my rental car back. Now I am carless. Thanks progressive.

This is the Worst Company I have ever dealt w

Progressive is the worst company I have ever had contact with. Wow, what an incredible joke this outfit is. The quoted me a policy that was 2.5 times higher then Geico’s. I signed up, VERBALLY, then ATTEMPTED ON NUMEROUS OCCASSIONS to cancel the poicy. All these shysters did was send this stupid letter from some phony law firm threatening to reduce my credit rating. You sorry folks can go to hell.

What a horrible policy refund experience

I’ve cancelled my auto policy to go with USAA Insurance company asnit was $400 per 6 month cheaper than progressive. I️ followed all of the appropriate steps per progressive to cancel the policy. I️ am expected to receive a refund of $179.79 that is to be deposited into my checking account. It has been a substantial time since the policy was cancelled and have not received the refund as of yet. I’ve called three times already wanting to know the status of the refund. I’ve received the quote saying it has been released to my account three days ago. Well no it hasn’t. I’ve contacted the bank and there are no projected deposits from them coming in that are scheduled. Called progressive again three days later to get the speech that’s its been released. Well not so much. It’s still not here and the bank says it’s not projected to be here and we have no record from progressive coming in for any deposit. I’m so tired of the same song and dance speech. Anyone considering progressive approach at your own risks. What is so hard about just doing business the right way. I’ve been a loyal customer since 2009. It’s 2017 now. If you’re going to be a good business just do what you say you’re going to do and provide the service you should. Sure will never recommend progressive to anyone nor ever be another customer of progressive ever again. There are too many good insurance companies out there to go with. Worse Insurance

It's one of the the worse Insurance company that I have seen in Texas. When you want to cancel then they will tell you have to the late pay you are not qualified for this and that. Never recommend. Worse and worse Insurance.

AVOID DOING BUSINESS WITH PROGRESSIVE - MAJOR

PROGRESSIVE WILL REQUEST DOCUMENTATION AND CLAIM IT NEVER RECEIVED IT. EXPECT MAJOR POLICY INCREASE AFTER WHAT THEY QUOTE YOU. I received a quote from Progressive and signed up for a policy. Two weeks later, I received an e-mail with a cancellation notice requesting additional documentation. After submitting documentation via e mail and regular e mail 5 TIMES, I was told that since they did not received it, my insurance rate would go up by $900. Frustrated, I switched back to my previous insurance company. And wait... canceling my policy with Progressive a major nightmare! Again, they asked me to submit proof of new insurance, which I did. When I called, they said that it takes up to five days to receive an e mail and process. On the fifth day, I was informed that the insurance documentation was not received. I had to send it four other times and called the Manager to cancel my policy. But there is more... After canceling, my refund was next to nothing, as they applied the $900 increase to the charges. All in all, I was insured for one month plus one day, and paid three times as much as I ever paid in my lifetime. AVOID PROGRESSIVE, AVOID.

Paying when canceling insurance

So we had to cancel the insurance with them because the rates just kept going up, they had no explanation for it. We had no speeding tickets or violations but our bill went up 85 dollars in 3 months. So we cancelled and then they charges us 150 dollars didn't even tell us and sent it to collections. This insurance is awful and I hope they go out of business.

Change of address

Called Progressive in July 2017 to see if there were any discounts available since my policy was set to renew in August. Progressive updated my information in the system and changed my address as I had just moved. Because of the change in address my policy increased by $400 from the previous quoted amount. After then moving my insurance to Geico as they quoted me $600 less than progressive I then receive a bill in the mail for the increase in insurance for the last month of service due to the change in address. Completely ridiculous!! and I always paid in full at the beginning of my policy period.
