Do not do the Snapshot Program

Progressive has a program where you plug in a device to your car for 6 months. It beeps whenever you break to hard. It also tracks a few other of your driving habits to see if you are a good/safe driver and you can see your results on your account online. This program was created so that if you get good results at the end of the 6 months you can get a discount on your policy whenever and if you renew. My boyfriend and I thought this was an awesome feature so we did it. At the end of our 6 months we were told that we will save $95 in total for 6 months. Which comes out to $15.83 a month. Wonderful right??? Oh but wait, funny how at that same moment their policy was going up $93. Oh so great we now only save $2. It's such a scam. We won't be using Progressive anymore because I really do not appreciate that type of bullshit.

Customer Service Phone Numbers Ridiculous

I tried to call multiple phone numbers. All I wanted was to request my ID cards and I was unable to get through with somebody. I kept getting the same message to wait for 6 minutes and first I took like 25 minutes and nobody came to the line. Then I tried a different number and same thing except this time I didn't wait 25 minutes. Phone numbers that I called were 1 (800) 776-4737 and 800-876-5581. Is it that difficult to speak to someone to request ID cards. I have been a loyal customer paying my bill in full every 6 months for 7 years.

Pass This One Up

They may have cute commercials and gimmicks, but don't trust them for the long haul. You pay your premiums month after month, however if you file a claim or need roadside assistance more than once (which is very likely if you have a multi car policy) they will tell you that you "...are not eligible for renewal." and cancel you. Move on to a company more dependable.

Customer service agents are misleading/coveru

The progressive company are are nothing more than a company set out to rip off customers by misleading info they give you as well as out ragious prices! My insurance with them compared to Geico same everything was literally twice what my rate with Geico plus i am fully informed of all details and not lied to or or just purposely leave out pertinent info leading customers to believe1 thing but doing another.!! I was told when canceling that out was taken care of canceled immediately and we will also be issuing a credit due to when canceled. However that did not mean i would not be billed another month because it processes through the bank yesturday even though it had never come out of my account until the 7th. Yet instead of telling me this info mislead me DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM THEY WILL RIP YOU OFF ANY CHANCE THEY GET! THEY PREY ON PEOPLE WHO ARE NOT FAMILIAR WITH EVERY LITTLE DETAIL! Share

Nine years with this insurance no accidents,no fines.I decide to cancel because they are charged me to much, and do not reimburse the $ 226.06 of the payment of the month, very bad customer service, and raise the price, I do not recommend this insurance

The worst ever!! Do not risk!!

I signed up because of the rate. Filed a claim after an accident, 1. Had one conversation with an agent and was unable to get any information for weeks following. I left voice messages and emailed to no avail. 2. Went to the service center where they recommended a repair shop, they assured me that the shop had experience with luxury car's. I was told my car would be done in 2 weeks. I did not get my car back till a month later. After picking my car up all of the lights came on and I had to bring it back. They kept it for the day and said they can't figure out what's wrong with it and told me to take it to the dealer. 3. I still did not hear anything about my claim and asked the service center, they informed me that they decided the results. I did not understand how a decision can be made without communication with me to find out what even happened. There was no effort put in taking care of me as a customer, I filed a complaint and receivedo a call from the manager stating the agent was in training which is an unacceptable respond for poor service from start to finish. You get what you pay for and when it comes to insurance, that is not the risk that you want to take. I am leaving them and going to allstate or liberty mutual. You'd be in better hands if you stay clear of progressive.

Bad Faith Insurer

PROGRESSIVE INSURANCE BAD FAITH INSURER On June 30, 2012; my pregnant wife, while driving, was struck by another vehicle. The driver of the offending vehicle, a Seattle Police officer, admitted fault. He was insured with Progressive Insurance. Our daughter was born prematurely at just over 3 lbs.; spending the first weeks of her life in the Natal Intensive Care Unit at Providence Hospital, Everett WA. We spent that time healing, juggling jobs and responsibilities, which included our 2-year old son. Our Major Medical Coverage plus Personal Injury Protection with our own Insurance providers covered most of our medical expenses. We were left with a balance of the expense to repair my wife’s vehicle, lost wages & deductibles and therefore approached Progressive Insurance for $6,843.19 minus an offset from our own coverage of $555.25; leaving a remaining balance of $6,287.94 to make us financially whole. Progressive Insurance through a series of adjusters over three years made embarrassingly low counter offers, eventually forcing us to court. There, during a fourth appearance, on a legal technicality unrelated to the claim, our case was summarily dismissed. WHAT YOU CAN DO TO HELP 1) SIGN THIS PETITION This petition will be forwarded to the current president of the National Association of Insurance Commissioners, Ted Nickel; asking for a nationwide investigation into the claims practices of Progressive Insurance. https://www.change.org/p/ted-nickel-make-insurance-provider-accountable 2) CONTACT YOUR OWN, STATE INSURANCE COMMISSIONER If you have ever had reason or cause to file or been involved in a claim with Progressive Insurance, or been a customer; and, been treated unfairly with regards to a claim, billing or coverage; contact your state insurance commissioner at the corresponding office listed with the National Association of Insurance Commissioners. http://www.naic.org/documents/members_membershiplist.pdf 3) VOTE WITH YOUR FEET If you are currently insured with Progressive Insurance, get quotes from other carriers and consider changing your provider. DO NOT drop insurance before securing proper coverage at a competitive price. 4) CONSULT AN ATTORNEY If you currently have a claim of any size with or against Progressive Insurance or someone insured with them, schedule a consultation immediately. Two opinions are good, three are better. 5) CHECK YOUR PORTFOLIO If you own stock in Progressive Insurance NYSE: PGR, consult your Financial Advisor to consider the value of this holding and whether divestment is in your best interest. * THE BASICS OF BAD FAITH First Party Insurance Refusal to pay a claim without a reasonable basis or even if insurer has a reasonable basis for denial, failing to properly investigate the claim in a timely manner. Third Party Insurance Failure to defend or indemnify or settle claim within policy limits without a reasonable basis, or failing to properly and in a timely manner, investigate of defend the claim. Types of conduct which may be bad faith: 1) Deceptive practices of deliberate misrepresentations to avoid paying claims 2) Deliberate misinterpretation of records or policy language to avoid coverage 3) Unreasonable litigation conduct 4) Unreasonable delay in resolving claim or failure to investigate 5) Use of improper standard to deny a claim 6) Arbitrary or unreasonable demands for proof of loss 7) Abusive and coercive tactics to settle a claim 8) Compelling an insured to contribute to settlement 9) Failing to thoroughly investigate the claim in accordance with their own procedures 10) Failing to maintain adequate investigative procedures 11) Failing to disclose policy limits and explain applicable policy provisions or exclusions THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP In advance, I greatly appreciate your assistance in bringing this to light. Thank you.

PROGRESSIVE - Deception...maybe...nah-h-h, we

I've been with Progressive for a year. My initial reason for going to Progressive, they were much more economical than my previous insurance company and they gave me a great package to join (Auto and Renters). during the year I made some changes to the Policy, adding and dropping vehicles. the wait time during these changes was absolutely rediculous. They say the wait time is 6 min. but in actuality it's at least 20 minutes and usually longer. The last change I made, I ended up with 3 cars on my Policy for a cost of $447/month, full coverage all 3 cars. Within that year I dropped my least expensive car and my premium dropped to $399.99/month. My policy is up for renewal now and with just the 2 cars, no changes to the coverage on those cars, my premium went up to $447/month! Mind you there has been no claims, tickets, accidents, or anything else that I can think of that would cause my insurance to go up. Another issue I have with them is that they fail to recognize the difference between a residential spouse and a nonresidential spouse in the state of NJ so I 'm forced to have my wife on my policy even though she clearly does not live with me (she's not on my lease, I'm not on hers, and our DL's have different addresses). As I'm typing this I am on hold with Progressive, initially on my first phone, 1:03:45 (current) and then 30 minutes into the wait, I called them on another phone and while my first phone has been on wait for 1:05:00 (now), my second phone has been on wait for 00:34:11 and running. How ridiculous is this!! Unfortunately, I'm forced to wait because my call is for the purpose of dropping them... so fed up!!!
